I agree that if we were going to intervene at all, Obama's careful way of preparing the ground and limiting expectations is a good one, though of course we must also preserve the option of a more robust and rapid response when circumstances warrant.

And yes, definitely, the Prez overstepped in stating regime change as our goal, something that our allies, especially the more nervous few in the Arab world, would support no more readily here than they did in the Gulf War.JHawk23http://www.morning-fog.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30802444.post-20562833438195770312011-04-07T13:15:32.649-05:002011-04-07T13:15:32.649-05:00Excellent analysis -- you should be on Meet the Pr...Excellent analysis -- you should be on Meet the Press! It's absolutely true that when you're getting it from both sides, it means you're probably doing it right. I tend to lean to the isolationist position myself. I always tell my children, you can't give what you don't have and given troubles every where, darned if I can see why precious resources should be squandered anywhere. BTW, I suppose you know we have troops in over 60 places these days. We are still in Korea for goodness sake.schmidleysscribblins.wordpress.comhttp://schmidleysscribblins.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
