Thanks for Londyn

Our Thanksgiving celebration this year is tempered by tragedy. Our little next-door neighbor, 23-month-old Londyn, died in an auto accident last weekend.

We mere humans aren't privileged to understand many great mysteries, including why innocents leave this world early and those apparently far less deserving often live long and prosper. But while we mourn losing Londyn, we are thankful for the days she was with us.

We are thankful for the joy she brought to our neighborhood with her sparkling eyes and timid smile. We are thankful she learned to give us “fist bumps” and  “high fives” and to wave hello and goodbye. Most of all we are thankful for the many hugs she generously bestowed on Sandy and me.

Rest in peace, beautiful girl.

Oh my goodness! This is so heartbreaking, Dick. My heart goes out to her parents and all the lives she touched with that sweet and gentle smile.

Liked this post...and the one about being mercifully saved from the Packers game by a power failure. It was a pleasure to read the stories, luckily before Thanksgiving so I could have one more thing to be thankful for now--sooner rather than later.

Thanks, Jim. Good to hear from you. It's been a while, but I do keep up with you on Facebook.

Too sad when any child dies, however, the old saying is the good die young. Perhaps that is true.
Apparently she was a treasure, and you were fortunate to have known her. Dianne

I thank you sir...as I am one of Londyn's relatives neighbors on the other side of the State in Lake Orion , MI. Her entire family is praying.. I know the joy her cousin Sam brings me every
week as a loving bubbling joyous 7 year old...

may God bless you for honoring his little
angel in heaven.
