improvised bomb in Kunar Province,
Afghanistan, May 23, 2011. We did
not know the family; many in our
area did. He was an only child and
a well-liked grad of the local high
school.

So incredibly sad.
Last night I attended a "Welcome Home Party" for an airforce nurse just back from Afghanistan. It brought it all up close and personal and makes the loss of this young boy even more sad to me.
